Wax dressing is a type of water-based brightener used in the post-treatment and modification process of shoe uppers. It can modify the natural defects of leather to a certain extent and can help improve the luster, feel and waxy feel of dressing leather and full-grain leather. At the same time, it has a certain protective effect on the upper, and enhances the performance of waterproof, anti-fouling and dry and wet rubbing resistance.

The types of wax dressing are powdery and film-forming. The silty is composed of non-film-forming resin and wax emulsion and also can be used after shoe polish. The components of film-forming type are resins and wax emulsions with strong film-forming properties and high gloss. Often used to enhance the brightness of toe caps and shoe tails. But it falls off into flakes and cannot be used after applying shoe polish.
